Stella Maeve (born in 1961) is an American actor best known as the brilliant actress of Julia Wicker who appeared on The Magicians. Maeve is from New York. She is a part Blackfoot and part Cherokee. The actress made her debut on screen in 2005's documentary Liminality . Transamerica, a critically acclaimed film comedy-drama that was released in the same year was her first big screen appearance. In that same year, her very first television appearance was in a episode from Season 4 in the show Law & Order Criminal Intent. She was a part of the Dick Wolf's Chicago franchise in 2014 as Nadia Decotis, Chicago P.D. . She portrayed this character between 2011 and 2015 and then reprised it in Law & Order Special Victims Unit, a second TV series by Wolf. Prior to that was when she played Julia Wicker in Syfy's fantasy series The Magicians. Stella Maeve was a television actor who found success, as well as continued to perform in independent movies. In the Starlet cast in 2012 dramatic film Starlet she received the Robert Altman Award at the 2013 Film Independent Spirit Awards.
